Threads App Now Support Hashtags With a Twist: Without the Hash
The hashtag feature of Threads, a social media site owned by Meta, is a little different from that of rival programme X (previously known as Twitter). These were dubbed “Topic Tags” by Meta, who also developed an algorithm to narrow the interests of communities.
Adam Mosseri, the head of META, shared the news via forums on Thursday. During a testing period in November, the Threads tags functionality was first spotted in Australia.
The firm allows users to add custom tags with spaces and special characters, something that other applications like Instagram and X(Twitter) do not allow. This is in contrast to hashtags.
How to use Threads to add tags
You can add tags to a Threads post by typing the #symbol first. Several tags will then appear; select the relevant tag (hashtag symbol will not displayed) from the list……
